The method for starting the engine of a vehicle is carried out so that firstly the circumstances are determined, which are brought forward for evaluation. The vehicle brake esp. the operational brake or the hand brake is operated before the starting of the engine, for the reliable maintaining of the stationary position of the vehicle, across an external power.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren beim Anlassen des Motors eines Fahrzeugs mit einem automatisierten oder Automatikgetriebe und einer über Fremdkraft betätigbaren Fahrzeugbremse. Die Aufgabe, das Fahrzeug ohne Verschlechterung des Bedienkomfort gegen Wegrollen zu sichern, wird dadurch gelöst, daß Umstände erfaßt werden, die das bevorstehende Anlassen des Motors zum Ausdruck bringen, und daß die Fahrzeugbremse, insbesondere die Betriebsbremse, vor dem Anlassen des Motors zum sicheren Feststellen des Fahrzeugs über Fremdkraft betätigt wird.
