[origin: WO9915124A1] A vehicle adapted to be modified to provide wheel chair access at the rear of the vehicle. The existing suspension is removed and a well is cut in the floor of the vehicle, open to the rear. A transverse member (15, 16) is connected across the chassis longitudinal members (17) and two longitudinal members (2 and 5) extend from the transverse member (15 and 16) and are connected to the floor of the vehicle around the edges of the well in the floor. Suspension means in the form of a trailing arm (9) is pivotally connected to the transverse member (15 and 16), and suspension means (13, 23 and 34) is associated with the trailing arm. A tray (6) is attached by means of an operating means (3) to be raised and lower in the well, to allow access to the tray (6) from the ground and raised to a transport position.
