[origin: WO9914502A1] The invention concerns a pump with spirals comprising means (29, 19, 19A) for preserving a minimum clearance between the joints (5) arranged on the ridges of each spiralling wall (27, 28, 33, 34) and the flat wall (25, 26, 31, 32) facing it. Such an arrangement, which is made possible by the low pressure difference prevailing between the two adjacent transfer chambers (50, 51), prevents the wear of the joints, the soiling of the transfer chambers as well as overheating caused by friction between the joints.
