Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1024339A2] A beltless ammunition feed has an endless loop onto which are fitted the rounds and with a transfer loop to move rounds to the weapon. The intermittent loading action of the weapon is compensated for by a tensioning system for the loop drive. The tension adjustment is in relation to the displacement speed of the loop and is controlled to prevent loosing loop tension. The tensioner also compensates for thermal changes in the loop.
