[origin: WO9920147A1] The invention relates to an epilation device (101) for removing hair from the skin of a human body. The epilation device (101) comprises a rotary cylinder (103) provided with clamping elements (111, 112) with which a closing travel is carried out in an area (L) of the turning motion of the rotary cylinder (103). Pivoting means are provided for adjusting the area (L') of the closing travel according to the angle (W) at which the epilation device (101) is placed onto the skin, whereby the pivoting axis is arranged such that it is displaced relative to the rotating axis.
