[origin: WO9922280A1] The invention relates to a method enabling simple analysis of measuring signal characteristics in complicated processes with respect to stationary states. Said signal characteristics (M100) are detected as a function of time and are approximated using Haar wavelets. All measuring signals are analysed in order to determine whether they are constant during the same time period for several minimum Haar wavelet periods, which is subsequently defined as a stationary state (SZ) in said process. These time periods are retained and the stationary state data is fed to a function approximator which simulates the measured process. With this model, measured variables (resulting in dependencies with large time constants) can be transformed in a rational manner into manipulated variables to provide the desired target parameters for said process.
