Mould plate has rear face liquid coolant passage slots (7) with low divergence from the horizontal. A mould plate has a convergent inlet region and a slotted rear wall for liquid coolant passage, the slots (7) diverging by not more than 30 degrees from the horizontal.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kokillenplatte einer Kokille zum Stranggießen von Metall mit einem trichterförmig in Gießrichtung zum Format des gegossenen Stranges verjüngten Eingießbereich (5) und einer mit Schlitzen (7) versehenen Rückwand, in denen ein flüssiges Kühlmedium strömt. Zum Zwecke der Verringerung der Verformung der dem Strang zugewandten Arbeitsoberfläche und der Vermeidung von Rissen auf dieser Oberfläche weisen auf wenigstens einem Höhenabschnitt der Kokillenplatte die Schlitze (7) in ihrem Verlauf nicht mehr als 30 Grad von der Horizontalen ab. <IMAGE>
