The packets (10) are provided with two reference points or zones (19,20) on one edge (17) of the revenue stamp (11). As the packets move along a conveyor these are monitored by sensors to determine whether or not stamp edge is correctly positioned. Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Überprüfung von (Zigaretten-) Packungen hinsichtlich korrekter Positionierung von Banderolen. Zur Überprüfung der korrekten Position einer Banderole (11) an einer Zigarettenpackung (10) werden mit Hilfe von mindestens zwei Sensoren im Abstand voneinander liegende Mess- bzw. Prüfpunkte (19, 20) hinsichtlich der Relativstellung zueinander verglichen. Hieraus ergibt sich die Relativstellung der Banderole (11). Bei Schiefstellung derselben wird die betreffende Zigarettenpackung (10) ausgesondert. <IMAGE>
