Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9921940A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for producing combustible gas, synthesis gas and reducing gas from reproductive and fossil fuels, other biomass, waste or sludge. Before being conveyed to the reactor, these are separated as far as possible into gaseous and solid products, e.g., low temperature carbonisation gas and wood charcoal. They are then conveyed separately to the reactor. According to the invention, the reactor consists of a combination burner, a combustion chamber, an entrained-bed gasifier, a heat compensation channel and a water bath. The combination burner is provided with devices for burning the gaseous low-temperature carbonisation products sub-stoichiometrically, and swirl devices for spinning the liquid constituents out to the wall of the combustion chamber. The drops of liquid slag drop into a water bath. The pulverised fuel can react endothermically with the gasification medium from the combustion chamber to form gasification gas and the residual char is vortexed so that it reduces the temperature of the combustion chamber wall to below the slag melting temperature by convective heat absorption, a protective layer of solidified slag forming on the inner wall of the combustion chamber.
