To an internal combustion engine during its continuous operation an additive-treated vegetable oil is supplied as a lubricant. The used vegetable oil lubricant, together with a mixture of fresh vegetable oil and Diesel oil or rape seed oil methyl ester is combusted in doses in the engine as engine fuel.
