Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1028066A2] The machine closes e.g. hobbocks (1,2,3,4) using lids (10) locked by clamping rings. It has a conveyor (8) to move open containers in a line (9) into a lid placing section (B) with magazine (C) for lids and clamping ring closures. An advance unit (21) moves a lid from the magazine and places it on the container opening, and then places a clamping ring (S) with closure (V) on it. The machine has a closure section (D,E,F) behind the lid placing section, with a unit (31) to align lid and closure. Another unit presses the lid into the upper edge of the container, and then closes the clamping ring around the container edge.
