The ignition plug has a housing (60), an insulator foot (20) mounted on the housing, a central electrode (10) fed through the foot to protrude at the tip of the foot, an earth electrode (50) mounted on the housing and a screening device (100) connected to the earth electrode designed to form a spark path (F1) to the central electrode and to screen an axial and/or radial flow from the spark path.

Es wird eine Zündkerze vorgeschlagen mit einem Gehäuse (60, 60'); einem am Gehäuse (60, 60') angebrachten Isolatorfuß (20, 20'); einer durch den Isolatorfuß (20, 20') geführten Mittelelektrode (10, 10'), welche an der Isolatorfußspitze übersteht; einer am Gehäuse (60, 60') angebrachten Masseelektrode (50, 50'); und einer mit der Masselektrode (50, 50') verbundenen Abschirmeinrichtung (100, 200), welche derart gestaltet ist, daß sie eine Funkenstrecke (F1, F1') zur Mittelelektrode (10, 10') bildet und eine axiale und/oder radiale Strömung von der Funkenstrecke (F1, F1') abschirmt.
