Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19730720A1] The invention relates to a device (10) for pressurizing a food receptacle (12) which has been opened, for example a bottle for package. This device can be used to generate, optionally, an overpressure, a depression or a vacuum by corresponding pressurization, in order either to conserve the remaining contents of the opened food receptacle (12), or to compress a food receptacle made of deformable material. The device comprises the following: a hand-held device (16) with a pump (18) and an electric motor (20) which drives the pump; a pressure adaptor (22) which generates the overpressure; and at least one vacuum adaptor. Either the pressure adaptor (22) or the vacuum adaptor can be mounted between the relevant food receptacle (12) and the hand-held device (16). This produces the necessary links between the pump and the interior of the food receptacle (12) that is to be pressurized, and the atmosphere, in order to generate the overpressure or vacuum. The function of the hand-held device (16) determined by the adaptor used in each case.
