Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19744028A1] The mean particle size of the precious metal catalyst particles in the surface of the electrode, exceeds a minimum value above which the oxidation of CO is constant. The electrode consists of a conductive substrate with the catalyst particles deposited on it. The maximum particle diameter is no more than five times greater than the minimum diameter. The particles form aggregates of 10 to 80 nm. The substrate is carbon with open porosity. The electrode has a layer of electrolyte contiguous with it.
