[origin: EP1029611A2] The process uses two work piece parts (1,2), one of which is cup-shaped and has a flange. The parts are pressed together in the area of the flange, in a forming tool, are together subjected to an internal high pressure forming process, and machined further separately or together. During the pressure medium-tight pressing, the parts execute a movement relative to each other, and stamping takes place in the flange area (1.1,1.2), to influence material flow and/or aid sealing and/or achieve position fixing of the parts.
