[origin: EP1030120A2] The extractor is activated with the aid of an activation module by a hob activation signal. The extractor has a vapour detector and a hob switching detector as drive elements for a control circuit for activating the extractor. The control circuit activates sections for automatic operation depending on vapour sensing when the auxiliary sensor arrangement detects that the hob is switched on.
