[origin: WO9926189A1] The invention relates to a device for identifying and marking spots on a surface, comprising a control unit connected to a manually activated signal-generating unit and to a converter which produces an oriented electromagnetic ray based on a control signal transmitted by the control unit. Said control unit is connected to a receiver for receiving a release signal generated externally. This control unit is adapted to apply a mark characteristic of the related device to the control signal for the converter, and to transmit the control signal for the converter only in the presence of a corresponding release signal.
