[origin: EP1031531A2] The counterpoise drive which engages on either the crane base (15) or boom arm (13) has at least one piston/cylinder hydraulic force device which engages between the two articulated connections (25, 27). The hydraulic force device (29) is arranged above the swivel axis and is connected to the crane base and boom rigid against both tensile force and compressive force. The hydraulic force device has mechanical end stops between its cylinder (31) and its piston (33) displaceable therein.
