The handle assembly comprises a support section (18) and and an exterior section (56) that is mounted in a sliding arrangement. In between the support and exterior section is an electrical connection mounting (54) and guide elements (66). The electrical connection enables the door handle assembly to be monitored for operation from an external source such as a central control room.
