Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1031727A2] The compressor has one or more cylinders (11, 12) and a crank shaft in a crank housing (15). The crankshaft is set vertical and underneath the cylinder a drive assembly (13), such as an electric motor, is coupled to the crankshaft. A ventilator (20) coupled to the drive assembly or crankshaft produces an air current which moves upwards along the drive assembly and along the cylinder. Compressed air flowing out of the or each cylinder is guided in pipes (34, 35) exposed to the cooling air current of the ventilator.
