Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2771104A1] Chimeric gene (I) contains at least one elementary chimeric gene (Ia) comprising, in the direction of transcription: (i) 5'-regulators for transcription in plants, (ii) at least one heterologous sequence (II) encoding an enzyme (III) that confers tolerance to herbicides (IV) that inhibit HPPD (hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) and (iii) at least one terminator or polyadenylation sequence. Component (i) ensures transcription of (Ia) in chlorophyll-containing tissues. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) cloning and expression vectors for transformation of plants or plant cells, containing (I) plus an origin of replication; (b) transformed cells that contain at least one (I) and are tolerant of (IV); and (c) transformed plants, or their seds, containing cells of (b).
