[origin: FR2771110A1] The smoothing iron (2) is connected by a tube (105) to a steam generator (1) and incorporates a condensate collector (201, 202) and a steam recuperating duct (203). The condensate collector has a cavity (201) connected to a reservoir (202) beneath it, and the outlet end of the connecting tube (105) joins the cavity approximately orthogonally to the axis (215) of the cavity and reservoir and at a tangent to the cavity. The cavity connects with the reservoir through a hole (216) in the cavity's conical base. The iron also has a system for expelling the condensate, comprising an atomiser nozzle (214), a duct (209) between the condensate collector and the nozzle, and a pump for propelling the condensate from the collector to the nozzle.
