Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19751729A1] The invention relates to a fan wheel for a turbocharger. The fan wheel (1) consists of a base body comprising a central axis of rotation (5) formed by two congruent opposing cover discs (2, 3). Fan blades (6) are arranged between the front faces of the cover discs facing each other. The fan blades (6) are formed by a single piece on at least one of the cover discs (2, 3) and comprise an axial locating face (30) on which an opposing axial locating face (31) of the other cover disc (2, 3) is located. Fixing means are provided in the area of the locating faces (8, 9) for non-detachable interconnection of the cover discs (2, 3). In order to manufacture the fan wheel (1) without balancing, the cover discs (2, 3) are made of material that is suitable for stamping and the fan blades (6) are stamped axially from the material of a cover disc (2, 3). The edges (22a, 22b) between the plane of the cover disc (2, 3) and the side wall (19a, 19b) of the fan blade (6) standing substantially at a right angle in relation to the plane of the cover plate (2, 3) and the edge (21a, 21b) between the side wall (19a, 19b) of the locating face (30, 31) are rounded with a radius (R1, R2) of approximately 0.5 to 2 mm.
