[origin: WO9926023A1] The present invention relates to a refractory lining for a tubular wall, wherein said lining includes a plurality of adjacent and overlapping refractory plates (1) each comprising a pair of T-shaped slots (16) extending on the entire height of said plates. These plates (1) are each attached to the tubular wall (2) with the lining using appropriate fixations (11) in the shape of screws. Brackets which are independent from the above-mentioned appropriate fixations (11) are used for supporting the plates (1). Stepped upper and lower edges are provided on the plates (1) for enabling the vertical and mutual displacement thereof without altering the tightness of the tubular wall lining. The two side edges (14, 15) of each plate (1) are further formed with a ridge (141) and a groove (151).
