[origin: DE19905430A1] A first geographical location may be obtained for an instant location of a digital audio broadcast (DAB) receiver as well as from a header block of a DAB message. A second geographical location of an event affects the DAB message when a first distance is determined between the first location and the second geographical. The DAB message is brought to a listener for hearing by the DAB radio receiver, if the first distance falls below a set value. A DAB receiver (10) receives a corresponding DAB radio signal via an antenna (12). The DAB receiver produces of an instant localization signal (P1) code) (14) received by a first evaluation device (16) included in the DAB radio signal (TII) code. The first evaluation device (16) from the TII code (14) forms an instant geographical location determined by the radio receiver (100) produced by a comparator (18) as a desired value (20).
