[origin: FR2771626A1] The invention concerns a method and a system enabling the blind and the partially sighted (40) to direct themselves and find their way in unknown surroundings (41, 46). Said method consists in teletraining (43a, 43b, 43c, 43d) using a portable sensor (1, 11) in particular touch-sensitive (2) or audio, the blind or partially sighted person (40) about the path (44, 47) he must follow to move from one point to another, avoiding obstacles. Said method enables the blind or partially sighted person, having no material landmark which he could remember and recognise by feeling his way with his walking stick, to find his way particularly in the streets of a town, in the corridors of an underground railway or of a building.
