[origin: WO9929356A1] The invention relates to a method and device for monitoring proper fluid supply to an implanted catheter (1). Said method consists in monitoring the transmission of a signal between a location (Q) at the fluid source (2) or adjacent to it, and a location (P, R) downstream from the fluid flow or on the patient's skin. Preferably, propagation of an electrical current is monitored by separately measuring the electrical resistance values between the upstream location and the downstream location as well as between the latter and the area located on the skin, and comparing them to predetermined limits. An alarm is triggered when one of the limits is exceeded.
