Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2784299A1] Vein catheter tube inserter (I) comprising a tubular sleeve associated with a dilator tube, where the sleeve has a cylindrical main section (11) and an elastic slit (12) over its whole length for fitting to the tube which has a cylindrical main section (14) and a tapered distal end (16), is new. (I) comprises a tubular sleeve associated with a dilator tube, where the sleeve has a cylindrical main section (11) and an elastic slit (12) over its whole length for fitting to the tube which has a cylindrical main section (14) and a tapered distal end (16). The tapered distal end is connected to the main section of the tube by a shoulder (17) which is shaped to receive the matching truncated conical distal end of the sleeve. The sleeve cylindrical main section (14) ends in a distal edge (18) flared frontwards. The outer diameter of the tube's main section is the same as the inner diameter of the sleeve to form a friction fit, and the sleeve has a lug (13) for gripping it at its proximal end. The device is inserted by the Seldinger method.
