[origin: EP1038820A2] The winch has a rotatable winding drum (10) rotatably located in a holding device. A drive mechanism (20) is provided for the drum and the holding device is formed as two wheels. The wheels of the winch are formed as two circular disk-shaped parts or rims (11,11'), which on opposite sides are connected to an end of the winding drum. Around the periphery of the wheels tires (13,13') extend. The winding drum has guide devices (22,22') which hold the object being wound remote from the wheels of the winch, preventing it from being damaged. These devices take the form of a blunt cone open upwardly and downwardly, with the tube of the drum extending through the narrower upper opening to the base of the cone.
