[origin: EP1039038A1] The shuttering system consists of a sole plate (14) with an inner face caisson and edges formed by sheet metal plates (60, 62) with timber spacers (64) to maintain the distance between the plates equivalent to the thickness of the sole plate, and a filling material (66) between the spacers and sole plate edges. The filling material is made from a plastic that it not susceptible to impregnation with the concrete while being soft enough to allow extraction hooks to be inserted to remove the shuttering. The metal plates are attached to the edges of the sole plate by temporary fastenings such as wire loops or clips.
