Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9857874A1] The invention relates to a transfer device for flat articles in a stack, which comprises a base (1), a transfer means (2) arranged movable with respect to the base (1) at an operating rate (arrow N1) and arranged to transfer flat articles (E), located in the stack (P) and placed on the transfer means (2), in their transfer direction (S). The articles (E) are arranged transverse with respect to the transfer direction (S) and substantially parallel to each other. The transfer device comprises a follower device (3), which comprises at least one support conveyor (4) arranged above the base (1). The support conveyor (4) is at least partly arranged to extend in the direction of a straight line (X1) substantially parallel to a free plane (S1, S2, S3) of the stack (P) and arranged movable. The support conveyor (4) comprises, at different locations in its longitudinal direction, several contact means (5) arranged, while the support conveyor (4) and transfer means (2) are moving, to support the stack portions (PO) formed of one or more flat articles (E) and moving in the stack (P) in the transfer direction (S) in such a way that, viewed from the transfer direction (S), the front surface (SE) or the rear surface (ST) of the portion (PO) of the stack at least partly rests against this contact means (5).
