Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0005162A2] The invention relates to a textile rope (1, 15) whose surface (3) is formed by a tubular braiding (2) consisting of a plurality of strands and which presents a splice joint (5). At the point of splicing, the end section (8) of the one rope end (6) is inserted into the other rope end (7) and the end section (9) of the other rope end (7) is inserted into the one rope end (6). The end sections (8, 9) are each divided into several strands (10, 11) each of which protrudes slightly through the braiding (2) which forms the surface (3) of the rope (1, 15) and is thus held in the braiding (2). The points of protrusion (12) of said strands (10, 11) are situated at a mutual distance (13) from each other, as viewed in the longitudinal direction (14) of the rope. To produce such a rope (1, 15) first the end section of the corresponding other rope end is inserted into the two rope ends (6, 7), after which the individual strands (10, 11) of said end sections (8, 9) are grasped through the braiding (2), separated from the adjacent strands and pulled outwards out of the braiding (2).
