[origin: WO9931410A1] The invention concerns a mechanical gearbox (10, 110, 210) with at least two parallel input (14, 114, 218) and output (16, 224) shafts, wherein the input shaft (14, 114, 218) driven in rotation by a motor via a rotating elastic coupling device damped by surface friction. The invention is characterised in that the input shaft (14, 114, 227) is coupled in rotation to the motor via a torsion bar (38) coaxial with the gearbox (10, 110, 210), associated with a frictional damping device (154) co-operating with the input shaft (14, 114, 218). The invention is applicable to a motor vehicle mechanical gearbox.
