Gas bottle (1) is composed of up two half shells (2) made of an aluminum alloy. The half shells are produced by deep drawing sheet having a wall thickness of not more than 6 mm in one working step without intermediate annealing. The ratio of the height the thickness of the half shells is 1-3: 1. Preferred Features: The half shells are identical. The alloy is AlMg4.5Mn. The wall thickness of the half shells is 3.0-3.5

Herkömmliche Gasflaschen für Brenngas oder Motorgas bestehen aus Stahl und haben damit ein beträchtliches Gewicht. Die Erfindung sieht vor, daß die Gasflasche aus zwei identischen Gasflaschen-Halbschalen zusammengesetzt ist, die aus einer Aluminium-Legierung bestehen und im mehrstufigen Tiefziehverfahren aus einem Blech mit einer Wandstärke von höchstens 6 mm in einem Arbeitsgang ohne Zwischenglühen hergestellt sind. Das Verhältnis von Höhe zu Durchmesser der Halbschalen beträgt etwa 1 : 1 bis 3 : 1. Die Gasflasche ist leicht und verhältnismäßig billig herstellbar.
