[origin: EP1041346A2] The oven (1) has a closing muffle (5) with a cooling fan (15) outside of the muffle, whose pressure side is connected to a ventilation channel arranged above the muffle and outside. A steam channel (19) with a steam fan is connected to the muffle and opens into a steam inlet (23), which is extended by a connection section (33) transverse to the ventilation channel. The steam outlet (31) is arranged in the flow path of the ventilation unit and turns away from the main ventilation flow direction. The connection section is formed by a base plate (11) of the ventilation channel and a steam conducting plate (29). The connection section extends over at least one third of the width of the ventilation channel transverse to the main ventilation flow direction.
