[origin: EP1041587A1] A transformer,or reactor includes several sandwich- or pancake-windings connected electrically in parallel and/or in series, of which each has one or more turns arranged in a common plane. Each sandwich- or pancake-winding consists of a flat metal plate extending over the total winding surface and made of electrically conducting material with a slot of given width following the t contour. The turns (1-4) of each sandwich- or pancake- winding and the adjacent windings are respectively separated via heat-resista spacers (15) made of an electrically insulating material, and the inner (1) and outer (4) turn is equipped with an electrical contact device (5,6) for each sandwich- or pancake-winding.
