[origin: WO0005746A1] A high-pressure discharge lamp comprises a transparent ceramic discharge container (1), a feeding conductor (2), a pair of electrodes (3, 3), a seal (4) of ceramic sealing compound, and a discharge medium. The discharge container has a capacity equal to or less than 0.1 cc. The distance (d1) between the end of the electrode and the inner surface of the transparent discharge container is 1.0 mm or greater in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the transparent discharge container.
