[origin: WO9934140A1] A valve assembly (1) comprising a housing (2) having an inlet (3) and an outlet (17), and an on/off valve (5) mounted in the housing (2), the said on/off valve (5) being movable between open and closed positions to permit or prevent flow of liquid from the inlet (3) to the outlet (17), wherein a selector (13) having an inlet (14) and an outlet (16) is movably mounted in the housing (2) such that movement of the selector (13) causes the outlet (16) thereof to move relative to the outlet of the housing (2). In one aspect of the invention a bypass is provided to maintain a minimal flow rate when the main supply has been cut off, for example providing for basic low level supply of water for hygiene purposes when the main supply has been suspended as a result of non-payment of charges or the like.
