[origin: WO9933049A1] A mouthpiece (10) for a wind instrument comprises a tone chamber (12) limited by a cover (14). The cover (14) has a raising (18) so that the position of the mouth of a musician is more open than in case of a cover without a raising. Preferably the cover (14) also comprises an excavation (20). Both the excavation (20) and the raising (18) improve the quality of the sound produced by the wind instrument.
