Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19915937A1] A rhodium-free precious metal glaze contains one or more organic precious metal compounds and a small quantity of an organic chromium compound. A precious metal glaze, for firing onto ceramic and/or porcelain surfaces at \-900 deg C, is rhodium-free and contains one or more organic gold, platinum, silver or palladium compounds and an organic chromium compound, the chromium content being 0.01-1.0 mol Cr per mol of precious metal and the precious metal content being 6-20% by wt. of the preparation. An Independent claim is also included for a method of producing decorated ceramic and/or porcelain surfaces by firing the above glaze at 900-1300 deg C.
