Abstract (en)
The ignition coil has two or more transformer stages (5-7) connected in sequence in a cascade circuit, whereby the secondary windings (8-10) of all transformer stages are connected in series to an ignition plug. At least one stage has two primary windin (4,11;12,13), of which one is connected to an ignition coil input or primary winding of a preceding stage and of which the secon connected to the primary winding of a subsequent stage. An Independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
