Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19746691A1] To achieve an improved utilization of a radio link channel in a wireless packet oriented transmission system data packets are transmitted between a transmission apparatus (10) and a mobile unit (14), respectively. Then it is determined whether a data packet transmission between the transmission apparatus (10) and the mobile unit (14) has been carried out successfully. Here, a transmission channel (16) is reassigned to another mobile unit (14) in a case that it is determined that the transmission of the data packet was not successful and further a retransmission of a data packet is estimated to be not successful.
