L'invention a pour objet un laminoir comprenant des moyens de serrage hydraulique agissant sur au moins un cylindre (2) de niveau réglable, et des moyens de mesure de la position du cylindre réglable comprenant, à chaque extrémité (42) du cylindre, une tige de mesure (4) passant avec jeu dans un fourreau tubulaire (5) de maintien de l'étanchéité de la chambre de pression (33). Conformément à l'invention, les vérins de serrage (3) sont à simple effet et le fourreau d'étanchéité (5) associé à chaque vérin est prolongé par un organe de liaison (53) traversant la colonne de la cage jusqu'à une extrémité externe sur laquelle prend appui un moyen de rappel du vérin (3), dans le sens opposé au sens de serrage, en prenant appui sur la colonne de la cage. <IMAGE>
