[origin: DE19800416A1] The invention relates to a device (10) for treating body tissue (12), especially soft tissue (14) located near the surface, by means of ultrasound. The device comprises an ultrasound generating unit (22) and an applicator (24) with which ultrasound can be injected into the body tissue (12) from an applicator surface (26) facing the body surface (16). The ultrasound is injected into the body tissue from outside and through the body surface (16) located over the body tissue (12) to be treated. A suction device is provided for holding the body surface (16) on the applicator (24).
