[origin: WO0027603A1] The invention relates to a method for producing granules of polymer material. The inventive method comprises the following steps: plasticising the polymer, dividing the plasticised masses into individual strands, cutting the individual strands into granules, cooling of the granules in a coolant and separating the coolant from the granules in a first drying process. The granules then undergo at least one elution process in a washing solution and the washing solution is then separated from the granules in at least one further drying process. In the first drying process, the granules are preferably subjected to high mechanical stress in a sieve bend comprising a downstream centrifugal drier. Tails of the granules are cut off by said mechanical stress. The further drying process is carried out carefully, i.e. it avoids abrasion to a large extent. In a preferred embodiment, the additional drying process comprises a sieve bend having a downstream fluidised-bed drier, shaft drier or vacuum drier.
