[origin: DE19800677A1] Electrical connectors usually consist of a contact blade and a contact element located radially and elastically on said plate. Current embodiments tend to produce high transition resistance, especially at high temperatures, due to the fact that mechanical prestressing of both contact elements was initially too low or has decreased during operation. In order to achieve low transition resistance, the invention provides a contact element with at least one leaf-shaped spring shackle that is fixed on one side substantially perpendicular to the contact blade and that has a sharp edge on its free end, at least in the locating edge, whereby the free end penetrates the area of the contact blade. The sharp-edged locating edge provides high superficial pressing thereby improving electrical contact. The self-locking device between the locating edge and the contact pint enables a mechanically resistant connection, wherein thermal expansions are compensated for by the elasticity of the spring plates.
