[origin: EP1046439A2] The roller has a ring-shaped circumferential groove section (14) located in one longitudinal half in a radial plane, except a flat section. A thread forming profile (10,12) is formed on both sides of the groove section. The profiles have opposite pitch, the flat sections coincide. The profile sections have a different lift and different diameters.
