[origin: DE19918291C1] Production of 2,4-dinitrophenoxy alcohols (I) by reacting a 2,4-dinitrophenyl halide (II) with a diol mono (alkali metal) salt (III) is effected by simultaneously introducing streams of (II) and (III) into a reactor. Production of 2,4-dinitrophenoxy alcohols of formula (I) by reacting a 2,4-dinitrophenyl halide of formula (II) with a diol mono(alkali metal) salt of formula (III) is effected by simultaneously introducing streams of (II) and (III) into a reactor: R<1> = 1-20C alkyl, 6-18C aryl, 2-20C acyl, COOH, COOR<3>, SO3H, SO3R<4> or N(R<5>)2; R<3> = 1-20C alkyl; R<4> = 1-20C alkyl or 6-18C aryl, optionally with one or more C atoms replaced by O, S or N; R<5> = H, 1-20C alkyl or 2-20C acyl; n = 0-3; R<2> = a group of formula -((CR<6>2)mCH2O)p- (i) or -((CH2)rA(CH2)r)- (ii); R<6> = H or 1-5C alkyl; m = 1-12; p = 1-4; r = 0-2; A = phenylene, optionally with one or more C atoms replaced by O, S or N; X = halogen; M = alkali metal.

Bereitgestellt wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von speziellen 1-substituierten 2,4-Dinitrobenzolen durch Umsetzung von 1-Halogen-2,4-dinitrobenzolen mit Mono-Alkalimetallsalzen von speziellen Diolen, wobei das 1-Halogen-2,4-dinitrobenzol und das Mono-Alkalimetallsalz des Diols simultan dosiert und zur Reaktion gebracht werden.
