[origin: WO9910147A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for producing cups out of prefabricated cup bodies on which the handles are cast. In the method, the following procedures are carried out with the aid of the device. A) A two-piece mold (1, 2) with a cavity (4) in which the handle should be cast is assembled and has a delivery (5) for slip, whereby the cavity (4) is open at the ends; B) A cup body (8) is placed on the two-piece mold (1, 2); C) The two-piece mold (1, 2) is clamped to the cup body (8); D) Slip is pressed into the cavity (4) in order to join the molded handle (7) to said cup body; E) Compressed air is pressed into the two-piece mold (1, 2) in order to detach the handle (7) from the surface of said mold (1, 2); F) The two-piece mold (1, 2) with the cup body (8)is opened; G) The cup is removed.
