Abstract (en)
The covering material consists of a rectangular sheet (6) with an adhesive coating (7) and a detachable backing layer (8). T backing layer has at least one transverse cut (9) parallel to the edges (10) of the sheet and corresponding to the position of t spine of the book. In one variant the backing layer can have two parallel transverse cuts corresponding to the two edges of the spine, and after removing the backing layer strip (12) between the cuts the spine is pressed against the exposed adhesive surfac begin covering the book. Angled (22) and straight (21) cuts are made in the covering material, according to the length of the sp the outer panels (13, 13') of the of the backing layer are then removed, and the sheet is stuck over the outer surfaces of the cover, with flaps folded onto their inner surfaces.

Le matériau pour couvre-livre de forme sensiblement rectangulaire, constitué par la superposition d'une première feuille (6) de recouvrement dont la face envers est revêtue d'un adhésif (7) et d'une seconde feuille protectrice (8), dont la face envers est appliquée, de manière détachable, sur ledit adhésif . Dans une première version, la feuille protectrice (8) comporte une découpe (9) totale ou partielle, parallèle aux deux côtés opposés (10) du rectangle correspondant à la hauteur du livre à recouvrir, délimitant deux bandes de largeur inégale , la première pour la couverture du dos et d'un plat du livre et la seconde pour la couverture de l'autre plat. Dans une seconde version , la feuille protectrice (8) comporte deux découpes (9) totales ou partielles délimitant trois bandes : deux bandes latérales (13,13') pour la couverture des plats et une bande centrale (12) pour la couverture du dos du livre. <IMAGE>
